Northern Rivers Social Development Council and Regional Development Australia – Northern Rivers worked with communities and regional services in 2013 to develop a social plan for our region, Our Communities, Our Region, Our Future.  Northern Rivers Social Development Council is a community-based not-for-profit organisation that promotes fairness and social inclusion in the Northern Rivers region of NSW. Our vision, simply put is together in a fair community.

We support the most vulnerable people in our community and strengthen communities by providing opportunities and services to alleviate disadvantage, engaging in advocacy and promotion, informing and educating people, organisations and government as well as encouraging partnerships, research and planning for future needs.

, is a non-profit community-based organisation that connects people and businesses in our region to opportunities, through partnerships focusing on community, environment and economy.

As a conduit between government and local communities, we are both a source and a provider of information and we play a pivotal role in the sustainability of the Northern Rivers region through community engagement, regional planning and leadership in regional development.
